WHITE HORSE CONTRACTORS LTD AND SEWARD TURF MAINTENANCE BTME 2006
Robert Donald, Managing Director, White Horse Contractors Ltd and Mike Seward of Seward Turf Maintenance were pleased to announce that Seward Turf Maintenance have combined with White Horse Contractors (Northern) Ltd. The merger, completed just prior to Christmas, is seen as a strategic development for both companies.
Seward Turf Maintenance is synonymous with quality and value, offering turf renovation services throughout the UK to prestigious clients. Combined with White Horse Contractors (Northern) Ltd they will provide existing and future clients with comprehensive range of activities and services. As well as the full range of turf renovation activities White Horse (Northern) undertake new construction and reconstruction projects in addition to the design and build of drainage schemes for sportsturf.
In the past twelve months the companies have been heavily involved in the Building Schools for the Future initiative and ECB cricket facility renovation projects. These major works have been undertaken in conjunction with providing existing and established clients the quality service they have come to expect.

WHITE HORSE CONTRACTORS SELECTED FOR LEEDS SCHOOLS' PITCHES
White Horse Contractors are well under way with significant sports pitch construction works for Leeds Schools PFI.
 Three secondary schools are to be constructed including first-class external sports facilities for the benefit of pupils and the community. At each of the schools, consideration has been given to ensure that all weather facilities are available, thereby creating year round sports provision.
This comprehensive sports facility package utilises White Horse’s ample in-house resource and capability to deliver natural turf and artificial turf pitches. Main contractor, Carillion, recognised the company’s commitment to detail and impressive track record for delivering high quality, turnkey sports turf solutions. Significantly, it was these factors, coupled with White Horse’s ability to clearly demonstrate life cycle project value for money, that were most critical when assessing the bids.
The combined school sports facilities comprise 7 natural turf pitches, 2 artificial turf pitches and 3 artificial turf MUGAs. The contract value for the package of works is £1.4 million with further pitches to be constructed at a later date.
