PLACEMAKING CONTRACTS MANAGER

As a Placemaking Contracts Manager, you will lead the end-to-end management of complex projects, combining hard landscaping, civil engineering works, and placemaking expertise. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also technically robust. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a combination of strong civil engineering knowledge, project management skills, and a passion for exceptional outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple placemaking, hard landscaping, and civil engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee site operations, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, designers, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
  • Review project specifications, schedules, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, & safety standards.
  • Lead progress meetings, provide accurate reporting, and proactively address any challenges.
  • Control project budgets through effective cost management and resource planning.
  • Champion craftsmanship, technical accuracy, and attention to detail across all project stages.
  • Promote a safe working environment in line with industry and company regulations.
  • Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Proven experience in landscaping, civil engineering, or construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and integration of placemaking principles.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams efficiently.
  • Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, contracts, and variations.
  • High level of problem-solving ability, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

    SKILLED TRACTOR OPERATIVE – RENOVATIONS

    Responsible for the safe operation of plant and equipment authorised to operate on sports fields, as instructed by senior operative or contracts manager. On smaller works responsible for all aspects of works, Health & Safety and Quality of work. Your will be responsible but not limited for the following.
  • Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team or by yourself.
  • Renovating and preparing sports pitches to a high level.
  • Work from drawings under the direction of Contracts Manager.
  • Work away from home (when required)
  • Prepare and operate a modern fleet of tractors, plant, and equipment, in a safe manner according to legislation and company procedures.
  • Perform and record daily safety check and maintenance checks on plant and equipment prior to use.
  • Maintain workplace in accordance with company health, safety and environmental procedures and standards.
  • Essential Skills & Requirements
  • CPCS / NPORS or be prepared to undertake any necessary training as required for your role.
  • SSSTS (optional/ preferred)
