Case Study: Derby County Football training ground construction

Project: Construction of Training Facility

Client: Derby county Football Club

Design By: PSD

Contract Value £ 763,000

Built at an overall cost of £5million, the complex covers 50 acres and has six irrigated full size pitches plus an indoor pitch.

White Horse built the pitches on preformed platforms, installing a comprehensive drainage system and constructing attenuation ponds. The plateaus were laser graded prior to draining and then imported sand and root zones were used to produce first team and academy match pitches. Further sand ameliorated pitches were formed for second-team practice. The main pitches were fully irrigated by an automatic pop-up system. Find out more about natural turf pitch construction.
