White Horse Contractors awarded additional works at Queens Park Rangers Training Ground

8th Feb 2023

With new elite-standard football pitches successfully completed at Queens Park Rangers FC Training Ground, White Horse Contractors have begun the next phase of works. With the package valued in excess of £1 million, QPR have again turned to White Horse Contractors to deliver further works consisting of soft and hard landscaping at their new Heston site.

Having built a strong working relationship with the QPR project team throughout previous phases of works, Colin McBeth and the White Horse Contractors team will continue to develop this key relationship with the Championship club by delivering their landscaping, planting, specialist drainage systems and services infrastructure.
With aspirations of returning to the Premier League, the club are progressing towards that reality with new elite-standard Training Ground facilities. From the youngest academy team through to their First Team, all will be able to train at the same location for the first time, giving each of the players and staff access to the same resources and high-quality training pitches, helping move towards their success. It was important for QPR to secure the right partners to enable this vision and the purchase of the Heston Training Ground was the starting point. With the pitches completed and performing superbly, QPR trusted our expertise and professionalism to transform their new site’s landscape areas, with the goal of achieving an inspiring environment for all their teams and staff.

With White Horse Contractors' proven capabilities in delivering complex and high specification landscape works, our team have been providing their knowledge and guidance, collaborating with QPR and the wider project design team leading up to the works commencement in December 2022.
The installation of attenuation tanks around the buildings was a significant design consideration for the club, with planning policies relating to Sustainable Underground Drainage Systems (SUDS) implemented. The rainwater run-off from the buildings will now be intercepted and stored in underground tanks, enabling the slow and controlled release of water off the site via a designated outfall drain.

With our expansive range of services across The Slatter Group, White Horse Contractors will be utilising their sister company's specialist surfacing capabilities to complete the Training Ground’s new access roads and car park requirements.

With new services being installed, and the planting and attenuation around the site and buildings already begun, this fantastic project is progressing well and we look forward to delivering a further first-class facility for the Training Ground!
